Thinkerbell collaborated with Muzza’s to launch Cat‑Flavoured Dog Pies: gourmet, dog‑friendly pies made from rabbit and fish designed to mimic the forbidden flavour of cat, without any actual cat, of course.
To bring the idea to life, a miniature, dog‑sized replica of the shop was placed outside the bakery, so pups could practically ‘order’ their own treat. The quirky experience triggered confusion, delight, and a tidal wave of publicity domestically and internationally.
Owner John Williams leaned in: “Lately, I’ve decided to say yes to more ideas for the business… So when Thinkerbell showed me this one, I thought, let’s give it a crack. Every day someone tells me how much they love the idea… then they walk out with a pie. Can’t argue with that!”
Thinkerbell’s Regan Grafton explains the thinking behind the absurdity: “Sure, it’s ridiculous… but it’s also a great example of how marketing science, combined with the right idea, can make any business famous. Even a little pie shop at the edge of town.”
On top of press buzz, the campaign drove bite‑sized joy in the community. Ten percent of proceeds from every dog pie are donated to Chained Dog Rehabilitation & Rehoming, backing a cause while making pups happy
